Belarus-Afghanistan

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan were established on June 15, 1999.

Working meetings of the Presidents of Belarus and Afghanistan were held in July 2015 as a part of the SCO and BRICS meetings in Ufa (Russia) and on the margins of the SCO Summit in June 2019 in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). The president of Belarus held a working meeting with the head of the Afghan executive power A. Abdullah in April 2016 during the OIC Summit in Istanbul.

In August 2017 A. Abdullah, Head of the Afghan Executive Power, paid an official visit to Belarus.

In October 2018 “on the margins” of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in Dushanbe, the Prime Minister of Belarus S.N. Rumas met with the Head of the Executive Power of Afghanistan A.Abdullah.

In April 2019, as a part of the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Kabul, the Minister of Industry of Belarus P. Utyupin met with the Head of the Executive Power of Afghanistan A. Abdullah, Minister of Industry and Commerce A. Ahmadi, Minister of Agriculture of Afghanistan Nasir A. Durrani, as well as the leadership of the Afghan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

In 2018 trade turnover between Belarus and Afghanistan reached 38.7 million dollars, export — 38.4 million dollars.

According to the results of 2019, trade turnover between Belarus and Afghanistan amounted to 114.7 million dollars, including Belarusian export — 114.6 million dollars.

The main export items to Afghanistan are oil products, tractors and tractors, food products, parts and accessories for cars and tractors.

Belarus mailnly imports from Afghanistan fresh or dried fruits and vegetables.

In October 2019 a trilateral business forum “Tajikistan — Belarus — Afghanistan” was held in Dushanbe with the participation of the representatives of chambers of commerce and industry and business circles of the three countries.
