The visa-free territory “Brest — Grodno”

1. As of November 10, 2019 foreign citizens without visas can visit the visa-free territory “Brest — Grodno” for tourism purposes for up to fifteen days.

2. Tourists can enter the visa-free zone in Belarus via 14 international border checkpoints:

  • automobile checkpoints Brest (Terespol), Bruzgi (Kuznica Bialostocka), Domachevo (Slawatycze), Benyakoni (Salcininkai), Peschatka (Polowce), Privalka (Raigardas);
  • small border trafic checkpoint Pererov (Bialowieza), Lesnaya (Rudawka), Privalka (Szandubra);
  • railway border checkpoint Brest (Terespol)*, Grodno (Kuznica Bialostocka)**;
  • Brest Airport border checkpoint, Grodno Airport border checkpoint

*The checkpoint Brest (Terespol) is a point of passage at the railway station Brest-Vostochny in the central area, Brest.
**The railway checkpoint Grodno (Kuznitsa Bialostockaya) is a point of passage at the railway station Grodno, Grodno.

3. The Visa-free territory “Brest — Grodno” includes the territories of Brest, Brest District, Zhabinka District, Kamenets District and Pruzhany District, Grodno, Grodno District, Berestovitsa District, Volkovysk District, Voronovo District, Lida District, Svisloch District and Shchuchin District.

4. In order to enter the visa-free territory a foreign visitor should possess the document which is issued by Belarusian tourist agency.

5. In order to obtain the document a foreign visitor has to:

  • address Belarusian travel agency which has the right to issue such documents;
  • receive confirmation approving a foreign traveler’s right to enter Belarus visa-free, and to obtain tourist service which should be booked in advance.  

6. Before entering Belarus a foreign visitor is to get a health insurance for staying in Belarus.

7. A foreign visitor entering Belarus visa-free is to present the following documents at Belarus State Border checkpoint:

  • a valid document which allows to cross State Borders of foreign countries (passport);
  • the document issued by Belarusian travel agency which allows to enter the above mentioned territories visa-free;
  • Health insurance.

8. A migration card is submitted at the border. Note: if the migration card is lost, a fine is imposed.
The visa-free entry into Belarus for citizens of a number of states for up to 30 days through the checkpoint at the National Airport of Minsk, which is provided by Decree of January 9, 2017 № 8 (as amended in force July 24, 2018), still remains valid.
