On the Participation of Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus Nikolai Kolodkin in the FAO Regional Conference
11.05.2026On May 11, 2026, Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus Nikolai Kolodkin participated in the 35th Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Europe and Central Asia.

The forum brought together over 550 delegates from 54 member and observer countries, representatives of approximately 20 international and regional organizations and financial institutions, agriculture ministers, diplomats, and experts.

The goal of the conference was to discuss current challenges in food security, sustainable agriculture, rational use of natural resources, and rural development. Particular attention was paid to the transformation of agri-food systems in the face of climate change, economic crises, and growing global risks.

As part of the event, Nikolai Kolodkin also visited an exhibition of Tajikistan's agricultural achievements, where he learned about the work of Tajik friends to include the Almosi Gorge, the Hissar sheep breed, and the pink Gulobi grape variety in the list of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems.
