On the participation of Ambassador V. Denisenko in the High-level conference

On May 30, Ambassador of Belarus V. Denisenko took part in the International High-Level Conference on Glacier Conservation. The event was opened by the President of Tajikistan E. Rahmon, Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General M. Sh. Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and other high-ranking foreign guests.
The conference is organized jointly by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN Headquarters in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/77/158 of December 14, 2022, declaring 2025 the International Year of Glacier Conservation.
The main goal of this event is to create a political platform that will attract the attention of the international community to the problems of protecting glaciers, snow cover, ice and their importance for maintaining the stability of the global climate and hydrological cycles.
