On participation in a memorial rally on the bank of the Panj River

On April 2, 2025, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Tajikistan took part in a memorial rally and laid flowers at the monument dedicated to the crash of the Mi-8 helicopter of the Border Department of the Federal Border Service of Russia.
On April 2, 1999, at 11:30, in the area of the Nizhny Panj checkpoint, 18 Russian servicemen sacrificed their lives while carrying out a special mission to protect the Tajik-Afghan border.
The event was attended by Russian and Tajik border guards, employees of the Embassy of Belarus and Russia, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo, internationalist soldiers, Russian compatriots, the leadership and schoolchildren of the Jaykhun district of the Khatlon region of Tajikistan.
As per tradition, the names of each of the victims were remembered during the rally.
The rally ended with the laying of flowers at the monument erected at the site of the plane crash.
