On participation in the round table dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Yalta Conference

On February 20, 2025, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Tajikistan took part in the international round table “The Heroic Feat of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Yalta Conference.
Representatives of the Council of War and Labor Veterans of Tajikistan, historians, internationalist soldiers, schoolchildren, as well as employees of the diplomatic missions of Belarus and Russia gathered to discuss the significance of the Yalta Conference of 1945 as the basis of the post-war world order.
The first secretary of the Embassy of Belarus N. Kolodkin spoke at the round table, noting the importance of jointly understanding the lessons of history and preserving the results of the Great Victory. In particular, it was stated: “We believe that joint efforts to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War in Tajikistan should become our response to the negative trends that are developing today. I would like to once again emphasize the importance of the fact that we have gathered together, the importance of the fact that we are comprehending and trying to preserve the results of the great Victory.” The importance of preserving the historical truth was emphasized in the speech of the head of the research department T.V. Troynel. In a video conference, she spoke about the work carried out by the Belarusian Museum of the Great Patriotic War to preserve the memory of the feat of the Soviet people, the contribution of the union republics to the liberation of Belarus, as well as outstanding Tajiks who defended the freedom of our Motherland.
