07.02.2025On February 6, at the Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University (RTSU), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Tajikistan V.A. Denisenko took part in the meeting of the organizing committee Victory. The event was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries, the command of the 201st Russian military base, the Dushanbe diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Tajikistan, educational institutions, public and veteran organizations.
During the meeting, issues related to the preparation for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Tajikistan through the embassies of the CIS countries and local public organizations were discussed.
Addressing the participants of the event, Ambassador of Belarus V.A. Denisenko emphasized that there are special, sacred themes on the agenda of relations between our states. One of them is the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The Belarusian high-ranking diplomat informed that in 2024 the Republic of Belarus held a high-level celebration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. He expressed his readiness to make every effort to properly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War on the land of fraternal Tajikistan.
V.A. Denisenko also briefly spoke about the work done by the Embassy in this direction, focusing the attention of those present on the need for close coordination of joint actions.
In conclusion of his speech, the Ambassador of Belarus expressed the opinion that the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory should be a response to the attempts of some countries and military-political blocs to devalue the wealth of national cultures, spiritual and historical heritage, as well as distort the historical truth about the heroic feat of the Soviet people.
